Reliable planning and scheduling processes by properly adjusted and maintained SAP / ERP systems

Every day, your inventory management and production control decide about more money than your management board. Yet material planners and process controllers often base their decisions on ‘gut feeling’ because the ERP system does not work precisely enough and the master data is not sufficiently maintained to allow reliable calculations by the ERP system.
Material planners and process controllers are not even be able to maintain and adjust the master data in the ERP at all: With rarely less than several thousand articles, assembly groups, components and trading goods neither the planners’ experience nor a rough adjustment of the ERP can lead to perfectly trimmed parameters.
Rather, a differentiated and continuous optimisation of the individual forecasting, planning and control parameters is required. Depending on your ERP system, up to 130 parameters have to be maintained for each item. At the same time, many company-specific factors and interdependencies have to be taken into account in order to set the right parameter values – without field-proven expertise and a precise simulation this is an almost impossible task.
To improve ERP parameters and the quality of master data, our first step is to set up specific rule sets which are founded on a classification of your items. These rule sets determine the adjustment of all material management parameters in relation to item specific conditions or other kinds of predictable circumstances.
